Thorpe Bay Horticultural Society was founded in 1948 since when we have grown from strength to strength. We now have over 400 members who live not only in Thorpe Bay but also in the surrounding areas of Southend & Essex. We are affiliated with the Royal Horticultural Society.

 

Whilst there are members who have been with us for many years, we pride ourselves on being a friendly Society which is always keen to welcome new members of all ages & backgrounds who will help us grow & prosper into the future. You do not have to live locally to become a member.

We have three shows a year, Spring, Summer & Autumn which are held at St Augustine's Church Hall,.

​

In addition we usually run day trips by coach to a garden attraction somehwere in the south-east. 

​

We also have an annual Xmas Lunch which is held at a local venue early in December which is open to all members.
