Day Coach Trips
Starting from Thorpe Bay station our Coach trips have visited a wide range of destinations over the years. We try to incorporate both a visit to a garden attraction with a stop for lunch or afternoon tea. In July 2022 we visited Bressingham Gardens in Norfolk. In 2023 we visited Penshurst Place near Tonbridge in May & in August we visited RHS Wisley.
On 30 June as we travelled through Kent in storm clouds & rain showers, we thought it would spoil our visit to Mount Ephraim Gardens. But no, it ceased in time for us to see the glorious rose garden, herbaceous borders, topiary garden & more. All highlighted by a fly past from no less than the Red Arrows.
On 4th August 2024 we had a trip to Fullers Mill garden near Bury St Edmunds, stopping at Bury for morning shopping & lunch on the way. Bury remains a very attractive market town with a large market on the day we visited plus extensive gardens around the Cathedral & Abbey remains.
Fullers Mill is a seven acre site on the banks of the River Lark. It was created by the late Bernard Tickner who spent over 50 years creating the dappled woodland & unusual shrubs, perennials, lillies & marginal plants. In 2013 the gardens were gifted to Perennial, the charity helping people in horticulture build & live better lives.
